What is the bulk table generator?
The bulk table generator lets you create many tables at once instead of adding them one by one. It's available under Tables in the admin dashboard and supports two naming modes: sequential and grid.
This is especially useful when setting up a new restaurant or adding a large section of tables.
What is sequential mode?
Sequential mode generates tables with incrementing numbers. You provide:
- A template with a
{n}placeholder (e.g.,Table {n}) - A start number and end number
For example, with template Table {n}, start 1, end 20, it creates:
Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, … Table 20.
What is grid mode?
Grid mode generates tables using a row-and-column pattern. You provide:
- A template with
{n}placeholder (e.g.,{n}) - Row labels (e.g., A, B, C)
- Column count (e.g., 5)
For example, with rows A–C and 5 columns, it creates: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5.
This is ideal for venues with sections arranged in a grid layout.
How does the template with {n} placeholder work?
The {n} placeholder in the template is replaced with the generated number or grid code for each table. Examples:

The template gives you flexibility to match your restaurant's naming convention.
What happens if a table code already exists?
The bulk generator checks for conflicts before creating any tables. If a generated table code matches an existing table:
- The conflicting table is flagged in the preview
- You can review which tables will be skipped
- Only new, non-conflicting tables are created
This prevents duplicate tables and ensures your existing setup isn't disrupted.
Are QR codes generated automatically?
Yes. Every table created through the bulk generator automatically gets a unique QR code, just like tables created individually. You can download and print QR codes from the Tables section.
Can I assign bulk-generated tables to zones?
Yes. During the bulk generation process, you can select a zone to assign all generated tables to. This is convenient for setting up an entire section at once — for example, generating 15 terrace tables and assigning them all to the "Terrace" zone.
You can also reassign tables to different zones later from the table management page.
Is there a limit on how many tables I can create?
There is no hard limit on the number of tables you can create. The bulk generator is designed to handle large batches efficiently. However, we recommend creating tables in reasonable batches (e.g., up to 100 at a time) for a smooth experience.
Do I need the Business plan for bulk table generation?
Yes. The bulk table generator is a Business plan feature. On the Free and Professional plans, you can still create tables individually.
The Business plan includes all table management features: bulk generation, zones, and waiter assignment.
